GUT MICROBIOME & GUT HEALTH
Caring for your INNER ECOSYSTEM
The gut microbiota (gut microbiome) plays a central role in immunity, metabolism, inflammation and mental well-being. When this balance is disrupted, a condition known as dysbiosis, gastrointestinal disorders, systemic inflammation and metabolic imbalances may develop.
To understand the health of your gut and act with targeted therapeutic and nutritional strategies, functional diagnostics and metagenomic analysis now offer specific screening and in-depth tests. Combining these diagnostic tools replaces trial and error with a scientific, personalized picture that helps restore the body’s balance.

TEST
GUT CONTROL
A specialized follow-up analysis of the gut microbiota. It is performed after an initial in-depth test (Gut Screening) to monitor the results of a therapeutic or nutritional program.
PURPOSE OF THE TEST: To verify the effectiveness of the therapies and diet followed. It confirms whether the bacterial ecosystem is rebalancing correctly and helps decide whether to continue or adjust the treatment.
WHAT IT IDENTIFIES: It measures the amount of beneficial bacteria and rules out the persistence of previously detected pathogenic microorganisms (harmful bacteria or fungi). The analysis focuses only on the microbiological follow-up component.
WHO IT IS FOR: Patients who have already had an initial screening and followed a targeted therapy for gastrointestinal disorders or dysbiosis, and now need a mid-treatment or end-of-treatment check.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED: Simply and non-invasively, by collecting a small stool sample. The sample is placed in a sterile kit and sent to the laboratory for culture analysis.
TEST
GUT PLUS
An advanced, in-depth diagnostic analysis of gut health. It is the evolution of the standard screening, combining a complete microbiological study of the gut microbiota with a set of biochemical and inflammatory intestinal markers.
PURPOSE OF THE TEST: To assess in depth both the state of the gut flora and the integrity and health of the intestinal lining. It helps identify the root causes of chronic disorders and check for active inflammation or intestinal permeability (leaky gut) problems.
WHAT IT IDENTIFIES: It maps the resident flora (beneficial bacteria, fungi and pathogens) and includes a fecal occult blood test. It also measures key inflammatory markers such as fecal calprotectin and lactoferrin, which reveal distress of the intestinal mucosa.
WHO IT IS FOR: People with chronic or recurrent gastrointestinal disorders (bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, constipation or diarrhea). It is particularly recommended for those with a family history of inflammatory bowel disease or of metabolic and autoimmune disorders.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED: Simply and non-invasively, by collecting stool samples. Depending on the protocol, specific tubes provided in the sterile kit are used to allow both microbiological analysis and measurement of inflammatory markers.
TEST
METABOLOMICS
A specialized analysis that assesses the efficiency of your metabolism and the interaction between your body, your genetics and your gut ecosystem. It shows how your body turns food into energy and how it handles nutrients.
PURPOSE OF THE TEST: To identify metabolic blocks, imbalances in nutrient absorption or predispositions to weight-related disorders. It helps design personalized eating plans (for example, balancing carbohydrates and fats) to optimize energy use and prevent chronic disorders.
WHAT IT IDENTIFIES: It analyzes specific biochemical or genetic parameters linked to fat and sugar synthesis. In advanced tests combined with microbiome analysis, it assesses the production of key metabolites (such as short-chain fatty acids) by gut bacteria, which directly affect weight, blood sugar and satiety.
WHO IT IS FOR: People who struggle to lose weight despite dieting, or who suffer from chronic fatigue, energy dips or drowsiness after meals. It is also suitable for those who want to prevent or manage metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and abnormal cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED: Depending on the laboratory’s protocol, by collecting a biological sample (stool or urine for bacterial metabolites, or a simple saliva or cheek swab for metabolic DNA tests), which is then sent to the laboratory for biochemical or genetic analysis.
TEST
MYCOLOGY (FUNGAL)
A specialized analysis to detect and identify infections caused by fungi, molds and yeasts (such as Candida). It can be performed on the gut (stool sample) or on the skin and mucous membranes (swabs or scrapings).
PURPOSE OF THE TEST: To determine whether the patient’s symptoms are linked to uncontrolled fungal overgrowth. It allows a targeted treatment (antifungal drugs or natural extracts) and avoids generic or ineffective treatments.
WHAT IT IDENTIFIES: It detects the specific presence and quantity of different fungal species (often dozens of Candida strains and other fungi). If positive, it usually includes an antifungal susceptibility test (mycogram or aromatogram), which identifies the drugs or essential oils most effective against that specific strain.
WHO IT IS FOR: People with recurrent or chronic infections (such as vaginal or oral thrush), persistent gastrointestinal disorders (severe bloating, anal itching), fungal infections of the skin and nails, or immunocompromised patients with a history of heavy antibiotic use.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED: Depending on where the symptoms are, by collecting a biological sample: a small stool sample for the gut version, or a swab (oral, vaginal) or a gentle, painless scraping of skin or nails in the clinic for superficial forms.
TEST
PARASITOLOGY (STOOL OVA & PARASITES)
A laboratory analysis that detects parasites in the digestive tract. It involves macroscopic and microscopic examination of the sample to directly identify parasites or their reproductive forms.
PURPOSE OF THE TEST: To confirm or rule out a parasitic infection as the cause of gastrointestinal or systemic symptoms. It precisely identifies the organism responsible so that a targeted, effective antiparasitic treatment can be prescribed.
WHAT IT IDENTIFIES: It detects protozoa (single-celled organisms such as Giardia or Amoeba) and helminths (intestinal worms such as pinworms, roundworms or tapeworms), identifying both adult forms and eggs, larvae or cysts.
WHO IT IS FOR: People with symptoms such as persistent diarrhea, abdominal pain, perianal itching, nausea or unexplained weight loss. It is especially recommended for those who have traveled to tropical areas, are in close contact with animals, or have consumed potentially contaminated water or food (for example, raw meat or fish).
HOW IT IS PERFORMED: Non-invasively, by collecting a stool sample in a sterile container. Because eggs or parasites may be shed intermittently, three samples collected on different days are often requested for maximum diagnostic accuracy.
TEST
VAGINAL MICROBIOME
A cutting-edge molecular analysis that maps the ecosystem of microorganisms living in the vaginal environment. Unlike older, generic culture swabs, it precisely quantifies the percentage and balance of the different bacterial and fungal species present.
PURPOSE OF THE TEST: To assess the health and protective status of the female genital tract. It helps identify the causes of imbalances (vaginal dysbiosis) linked to chronic infections, prevent reproductive and pregnancy complications, and guide precision probiotic treatments.
WHAT IT IDENTIFIES: It measures the percentage of Lactobacilli (the beneficial bacteria that protect the vaginal environment) and identifies the presence and load of pathogenic or opportunistic microorganisms responsible for vaginitis and vaginosis (such as Gardnerella, Candida, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma or streptococci).
WHO IT IS FOR: Women with recurrent or chronic infections, burning, discharge or cystitis; women planning a pregnancy or undergoing assisted reproduction (IVF/ART); and women in menopause or on hormone therapy with dryness and intimate discomfort that does not respond to standard treatments.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED: Quickly and painlessly, with a vaginal swab (taken by a gynecologist in the clinic or self-collected at home with a dedicated kit). The swab is then analyzed in the laboratory, usually with next-generation sequencing (NGS) for maximum accuracy.
